In line with the commitments entered into at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris and the National Bioeconomy Strategy, FIBRA International brings together several activities in synergy, including a prize for architecture with a book and an exhibition featuring the finalists (FIBRA Award), a conference for professionals and researchers (FIBRA Innovation) and associated events (FIBRA Events).

The purpose is to further promote construction with bio-based materials and to highlight initiatives emerging around the world. Three partners combine their skills around this ambitious project: amàco (atelier matières à construire), BioBuild Concept and the MUSEO agency for biological and cultural diversity.

The objective of the FIBRA Award is to showcase the aesthetic properties of plant fiber-based architecture, the construction advantages and the environmental benefits. Identifying exceptional buildings around the world will allow a wide public to discover them. Sharing these inspiring experiences will also strengthen relations between actors and invigorate the dynamics of the local sector.

FIBRA Innovation follows a series of national and international events held since 2015 in Cluny and Clermont-Ferrand. This Congrès international de la construction en matériaux biosourcés (International Conference on Construction with Bio-based Materials) will be held on October 3 and 4, 2018 at Halle Pajol in Paris. The aim is, among other things, to encourage exchanges between researchers and other innovation actors, with the objective of compensating for the lack of technology transfer.

FIBRA Innovation will officially launch the Groupe scientifique matériaux de construction biosourcés (GS-MCB) (Scientific Group on Bio-based Building Materials) and will recommend bio-based solutions in the Île-de-France Region in a favorable and demanding context: Grand Paris, Paris Métropole, 2024 Olympic Games, etc.

To promote synergies among actors of bio-based construction sectors, FIBRA International has invited other events to accompany in its undertakings. FIBRA Events include: the Rencontres régionales de la construction paille et des biosourcés (Regional Meetings on Straw Building and Bio-based Materials) in Hauts-de-France in Roubaix on December 6, 2018. The Congrès national du bâtiment durable (National Conference on Sustainable Building) will also host several workshops on plant fiber-based materials. It is organized by Ville Aménagement Durable (VAD) and the Cluster Eco-Energies will be held in Lyon on October 17 and 18, 2018. Moreover, certain recurring events wish to focus their 2019 edition on this theme: OFF du DD (Side Event on Sustainable Development), Bellastock Festival, etc
